Characteristics
Species facts
The best-known fish of Lake Svitiaz and at the same time the most vulnerable. Between 2010 and 2018 the eel supplied 43.5% of the lake’s recorded commercial catch, yet its global population is listed as Critically Endangered, and since 2021 the species has been in the Red Book of Ukraine.
